Our starting point

Individual coaching

You can be successful on paper and still want something different.

If you are at a crossroads, questioning the path you were supposed to take, or sensing that something is off, you do not have to work it out alone. Together, we make room for what feels true to you.

1:1 Coaching

Using the Co-Active model and Growth Mindset, we explore your strengths and purpose, make space for honest questions, and turn clarity into the courage to act. Not someone else’s version of success. Your own sense of fulfilment.

Strengths & Purpose Exploration

An ikigai-inspired exploration of what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. Find the connections without forcing your life into a single perfect answer.

Small-group workshops

An optional space to explore strengths and purpose alongside others. Thoughtful reflection and grounded conversations, with room to discover your own direction.

Who this is for

You might be here because

You are good at your work, and you have started to wonder whether it is still the right work for you.

Something has shifted (a move, a new role, a family change, a milestone birthday) and the old plan no longer quite fits.

You spend a lot of energy meeting other people's expectations and would like to know more about your own.

You have a feeling there is something you are meant to be doing, and you would like the time and support to explore it.

Nothing is wrong, exactly. You would simply like to live a little more deliberately.

Wherever you are starting from, there is no need to have the answers before we talk.

An open sky — a different way to see the everyday

I call it The Daily Opp because the opportunity is rarely a big leap. More often it is something small you notice and choose on an ordinary Tuesday.

Why The Daily Opp

The name comes from a trip to Australia, where I kept wandering into little secondhand shops that Australians call op shops, short for opportunity shops. In Japan we would call the same kind of place a chukoya (中古屋), a used-goods store. The shelves are the same and so are the objects, but one name points to what is old and the other to what might be possible.

That difference has stayed with me. I have come to believe that most of what we need to change our lives is already around us, in our habits, our relationships and our ordinary days. Coaching gives you the time and the space to look at it again and notice what you have been walking past.

How we work together

I coach using the Co-Active model, which starts from the belief that you are already creative, resourceful and whole. My role is to listen closely, ask good questions and help you hear yourself more clearly. The agenda is always yours.

  1. 01

    Pause.

We slow down and look at where you are: what is going on, what matters to you and what you would like to be different.

  2. 02

    Explore.

We look at your values, your strengths and the stories you tell about yourself, and notice where they help you and where they hold you back.

  3. 03

    Practice.

You try small, real changes in your daily life, and we reflect together on what you learn along the way.

Ways to work with me

One-to-one coaching

A series of private sessions on video, usually [every two weeks over three to six months]. For people working through a question about direction, purpose, work or a change in their life. This is where most people begin.

Reflection workshops

Small online groups built around a theme, such as values, transitions or your next chapter. A gentle way to experience coaching alongside others who are asking similar questions. [Next dates]

For organizations and creators

I also run workshops for teams and advise creators and brands on YouTube and global growth, drawing on my years at YouTube Japan.

Hello, I'm Shiho

I spent [eight] years at YouTube Japan as a Partner Manager, working alongside creators and media companies. I loved that work, and over time I found myself most curious about the people behind the channels: what kept them going, what made them stop, and how they decided what was worth doing. [My own reason for becoming a coach goes here.]

That curiosity led me to train as a coach using the Co-Active model. Today I work with people in Japan and around the world who want to understand themselves better and build a life that feels like their own. I coach in English and Japanese and I am at home in both cultures, which many of my clients who live between countries find helpful.

Questions

What is coaching, and how is it different from therapy?

Coaching looks mostly at the present and the future: where you are, what you want and how you might get there. Therapy is the right place to work through past experiences or mental health concerns, and I am happy to suggest that route if it seems a better fit.

Do I need to know what I want before we start?

No. Many people come to coaching because they are not sure. Finding the question is often the first part of the work.

How long does coaching usually last?

[Most clients work with me for three to six months.] We agree on a rhythm that suits you.

Can we work in Japanese?

Yes. Sessions can be in English, in Japanese or a mix of both.

Where do sessions take place?

Online by video, so you can join from anywhere. [In-person sessions in Tokyo on request.]
